| dc.description.abstract | In order to clarify the characteristics of sprays with small-quantity injection, optical experiments were conducted using a rapid compression and expansion machine. The shadowgraph imaging technique and Mie scattering method are applied to visualize spray liquid and gaseous phase at the same time and the effects of various injection parameters such as injection mass, injection pressure, and nozzle diameter, etc., on spray characteristics were investigated. Several characteristics specific to small-quantity injection were observed for liquid phase length, spray tail movement and spray cone angle. | en |
