<論説>ヨーロッパ中世都市 : その封建王政と絶対主義に対する関連において (特集 : 都市研究)

Abstract

この稿の目的は一つの図式の設定である。封建王政は、都市共同体と農村共同体の成立を前提として成立し、都市を把握することによつて集権を完成する。 (成立期の) 絶対主義は都市と農村の両者の把握によつて成立する。ただし、このときの都市と農村には階層分化が進展し、都市と農村の内部には支配と被支配、搾取関係が、都市と農村・小都市間には支配と対抗の関係が、成立している。絶対主義が把握するのは、この上層部である。その把握の仕方と都市のあり方が絶対主義の性格づけの大きい要因になる。

The object of this article consists in establishing a graphic formula. The establishment of urban and rural communities is prerequisite to the formation of the feudal monarchy, which finishes its task of centralization by grasping cities; the formation of the absolute monarchy is fixed by grasping cities and countries where the differentiation of status proceeds and relation of the governing and the governed, that of exploitation, and that of government and rivalry between cities and minor cities or countries have been formed. What the absolutism grasps is the upper of these, and how it grasps and what cities are should be a great factor to explain the degree of absoluteness in the absolutism.
