dc.description.abstract | More electrically driven aircrafts with electric propulsion systems are supposed to require 1-40 MW. In order to realize such heavily electrical aircrafts the development of lighter and more compact transmission cable systems is indispensable. We compared metal cables and superconducting cables, and found that DC superconducting cables are lighter and more compact than metal cables at voltages as high as ±6 kV. | en |
