抄録: | With changes in the economic and employment situation and the diversification of society's values, it has become increasingly important how to handle “career” in school education. In particular, career education for students who wish to enter universities at the upper secondary school (hereafter, high school) level tends to focus on the selection of universities to enter, but it is necessary to enhance career education with a view of future occupations and lifestyles. This paper aims to clarify the characteristics of career education in extra-curricular activities in South Korea, by comparing them with career education in Japan, and analyzes the position of career education in extra-curricular activities in South Korea and Japan in terms of educational content and evaluation. The results showed that in both South Korea and Japan, “career paths” were mentioned in the educational goals and content of high school education, and written records were emphasized in the evaluation of extracurricular activities related to career path education. However, there are differences in whether career-related competencies or qualities and abilities are concentrated in specific competencies or are spread over multiple qualities and abilities. In addition, the content of career education in South Korea is integrated into “career activities” within extra-curricular activities, and examples of these activities are more systematically provided. In conclusion, while the discretion of each school is respected, there is a higher degree of national systematicity regarding career education in South Korea. |
