dc.description.abstractIn this research the role of Internet in KKJ is considered. KKJ is the project which has been done by Kyoto University and Keio University jointly in 1999. The subject is "education and communication" which offered by Research Center for Higher Education in Kyoto university and "INOSHITA seminar" which Professor Inoshita of Keio University takes charge. This practice has the feature that "Joint Camp", "Classes" and "Internet" are systematically combined. At first we described process and the outline of KKJ Project. And then we reviewed educational practice researches in which Internet is used. As a result, the role of Internet is classified into the following; 1) A tool to obtain individual knowledge or the skill 2) A field to enable "Community of learning" to be generated naturally The first role can be divided into following pattern; for Sharing of information, for Master of skills and for Acquisition of new knowledge. These roles have no essential difference with current media. But the second role is different from them in the conception. And we considered this difference originates the new paradigm of learning. The Internet in KKJ plays the second role. While Internet in current practices is organized beforehand, Internet in KKJ is fluid. The theme has not been decided beforehand and the students make up the "field" by themselves. In such a respect, it is different from current practice. At the end, the importance of an arrangement of learning environment is described.en
