抄録: In recent years, the situation of Japanese higher educational institutions has changed rapidly and universities are now expected to play various roles, especially in undergraduate education. Though the purposes or functions of universities are ambiguous, there is little chance for students and university teachers to consider what they should do in university classes. Accordingly students and university teachers evaluate teaching and university attendees' behavior based on within an obviously biased frame. In this article, I define "frame of university class" as being the "principles of organization that govern events in a university class and our subjective involvement in them" that is based on Goffman (1974)'s theory of "frame". This article consists of two parts. In chapter 1, I theoretically investigate the structure of the "frame of university class" in detail. In chapter 2, I analyze a case of a university class in Kyoto University by using the concept of the "frame of university class".
