| 抄録: | In order to clarify the limiting condition for validity of the finite amplitude standingwave theories, some experiments on the finite amplitude standing waves including prog-ressive waves were carried out within the range of 6<T√g/h<18 in which T is thewave period, h the depth of water and g the acceleration of gravity. A diagram of thelimiting condition for application of both the standing and progressive wave theories isproposed within the range of experiments, by comparing the theoretical results withexperimental ones for the wave pressure, wave crest heights above still water level andwave profiles of standing waves and for the wave crest heights, wave velocities andwave profiles of progressive waves. |
