抄録: | Most of the saltating sand particles on a granular bed in a turbulent stream havesuccessively continued the saltation motion. In this paper, such a saltation motion isdefined as successive saltation. A theory of the successive saltation of a single sandparticle on a granular bed is established on the basis of the equations of motion for thesaltation and the dynamic characteristics of collision between a saltating sand particleand bed particles. It was concluded that the theoretical relationships for the saltationheight and distance and for the distribution characteristics are in good agreement withthe results of the experiments. Furthermore, some considerations of the saltation of acloud of sand particles in a turbulent stream are made with the aid of an applicationof the thoery into the saltation motion of sand particles. It was also concluded that thetheoretical results can well describe the phenomenon of the saltation of sand particles ina turbulent stream. |
