Abstract

Even though Martin Buber developed his thoughts in various fields, it seems that “dialogue”, or“ relationship”, is the core of his philosophy. This paper attempts to consider a relational phenomenon that causes inner changes in humans by analyzing the concept of “touch” in M. Buber’s dialogical thinking. The word “touch” has not been conceived to be as important as his other key concepts, such as“ encounter”, “ mutuality” and“ reciprocity”. By making comparisons with these key concepts, we aims to develop the idea that the concept of“ touch” had significant meaning in M. Buber’s dialogical thoughts.
