抄録: This study examines the mourning process from the perspective of student counseling, especially with regard to how the mourning stages can nurture adolescence and maturity as well as affect independence. In general, the mourning process takes time and there is no "fixed" time frame for recovery. A student who has experienced loss needs time to heal emotionally and begin activities, such as establishing new relationships, to continue moving toward the future. "Moreover, to attain independence and autonomy, it is necessary to first understand "mourning." Therefore, through a series of student counseling sessions, this study examined cases of parental loss and its impact on the development of students from the following perspectives: 1) The functions of holding and separation. 2) The process in which mourning is symbolically oriented. 3) The recovery of the vibrant sense of the physical self and the subjective sense of the self through the promotion of "experiencing." 4) The definition of the mourning process through a specific structure in student counseling. 5) The required attitudes of counselors.
