ヒマラヤ地域、高所山岳地域の自然災害問題

Abstract

ヒマラヤ地域の高所において深刻な問題となっている自然災害として, 氷河湖の決壊洪水と, 地滑りや斜面崩壊を対象に, その問題点を整理した. 氷河湖の決壊洪水は, ネパールやブータンで幾度か発生し, 多大な人的被害を及ぼしている. また, 地滑りや斜面崩壊は高所ヒマラヤ地域全域において共通する深刻な問題となっている. 両者ともその要因に地球温暖化や, 森林資源の減少が指摘されており, 人為によって引き起こされた可能性がある.

As the natural disaster that became the serious problem in the high place of the Himalayas area, I reviewed the problems for the Glacier Lake Outburst Flood (GLOF) and a landslide and slope collapse. The GLOF occurs several times in Nepal and Bhutan and gives the great human damage. In addition, a landslide and the slope collapse become the serious problem to be common in a whole high place Himalayas area. Global warming and the decrease of the forest resource are pointed out in the factor with both, and there is a possibility that it was caused by human impact.
