dc.description.abstract東ヒマラヤは地理的にはブラマプトラ水系の東西に伸びるカンチェンジュンガからカカボラジまでのシッキム、ブータン、アルナーチャル・プラデーシュ、ミャンマーの範囲である。本稿では、東ヒマラヤの地域的特徴を湿潤モンスーン農業の焼畑と水田の存在、無床のモンパ犂、冬季森林放牧の農業から論じた。つぎに、具体的な調査事例としてモンパ社会を紹介した。そして、東ヒマラヤが「地域としての単位性」を特徴として有し、高地文明を構成する「文明単位」となりうることを示唆した。ja
dc.description.abstractEastern Himalaya is the geographic area of Brahmaputra River System, where the mountains exist along the belt from west to east between Mt. Kanchenjunga and Mt. Hkakaborazi in Sikkim, Bhutan, Arunachal Pradesh and Myanmar. This essay discusses the characteristics of Eastern Himalaya by the following points such as Shifting cultivation, Wet rice cultivation of humid monsoon Agriculture, Monpa plough and Winter pasturing in forest. The society of Monpa is reported as a case of concrete field study on Eastern Himalaya societies. It illustrates that Eastern Himalaya having characteristics of a unity as an area can be "a unit of civilization" forming High Altitude Civilization.en
