ブータン・サムテガンからの報告

Abstract

ブータン王国ワンディ県サムテガン地域において、高齢者の健康調査をおこなった。この地域の高齢者の健康問題として、貧血、高血圧が多く、糖尿病も増加していることがうかがえた。また、胃腸障害、慢性閉塞性肺疾患も多い。高血圧・糖尿病は生活習慣病であり、予防可能であるが、症状に乏しいため継続的な受診につながりにくい。今後、現地の医療スタッフとともにサムテガン地域の高齢者の健康維持活動をおこなっていく所存である。

This is a preliminary investigation of health problem living in Samtengang area in west Bhutan. Frequent health problem were hypertension, glucose intolerance, anemia, gastrointestinal disorder, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Because hypertension and glucose intolerance do not show symptoms, it is difficult to make patients to have continuous treatment. The planned future activities in this area is to think about preventive medicine with local health staffs.
