<原著・資料・エッセー>日本霊長類学の黎明期に関する資料 --国立民族学博物館の民族学研究アーカイブズから--

Abstract

国立民族学博物館に所蔵されている資料の中から、霊長類学の祖である今西錦司に関連する資料についてその概要を紹介する。とりわけ今西が初めてサルと出会った都井岬やウマに注目した内モンゴルの資料についてコメントを加える。これらは、日本における霊長類学の黎明期について研究する上で貴重な資料となるであろう。

In this paper I introduce the primary sources about Kinji Imanishi who is the founder of primatology in Japan. These materials have been kept in the National Museum of Ethnology, Osaka. Especially I would like to give comments on the letters from Toi Cape where Imanishi first met monkeys and Inner Mongolia where he observed horses. These materials are valuable for archive research on the dawn of Japanese primatology.
