心理臨床における「普通」についての文献展望

Abstract

「普通」は臨床場面でよく語られる言葉であり，「普通」に合わせることの不適応が報告されているが，「普通」という日常語について体系的に論じた先行研究は見たらない。そこで本研究では，「普通」という言葉が指す意味や，不適応状態と結びつきやすい「普通」，そして今後の研究課題を示すことを目的に文献レビューを行った。その結果，「普通」は一般的には，ポジティブで安心感と結びつく言葉であるが，社会通念の意識や他者との比較をした際には，命令的規範や記述的規範と結びつき，ネガティブで不安定をもたらしうる言葉となることがわかった。心理臨床においては，規範的な「普通」ではなく，自分をそのまま認める新たな「普通」を作り直すことや，「普通」自体と距離をとることが1 つの目標になると考えられた。今後の研究課題として，属性による「普通」への特有の影響や，立場による「普通」の意味・構造の変化を検討することが挙げられた。

The word “Ordinary” is often used in clinical situations, and maladjustment to adapt to “Ordinary” hasbeen reported. However, no studies have systematically discussed the word “Ordinary.” Therefore, in thisstudy a literature review was conducted to clarify the meaning of the word “Ordinary, ” the “Ordinary”that is often associated with maladaptive conditions, and future research issues. The results showed that“Ordinary” is generally a word associated with positivity and a sense of security, but when it is associatedwith an awareness of conventional wisdom and comparisons with others, it is associated with imperativeand descriptive norms and can lead to negativity and instability. In clinical psychology practice, one goalwould be to re-create a new “Ordinary” that acknowledges oneself as one is, rather than a normative“Ordinary, ” and to distance oneself from the “Ordinary” itself. Future research issues include examiningthe specific effects of attributes of people on “Ordinary” and changes in the meaning and structure of“Ordinary” depending on their social position.
