戦時体制下における看護学の高等教育への展開--女子厚生専門学校および女子専門学校保健科の光芒--

Abstract

戦時体制下においては、女子厚生専門学校・専門学校保健科の新設・設置との形態で局所的な看護学の高等教育への展開が見られた。女子厚生専門学校は戦時体制下における看護職養成需要と学校運営者の高等教育機関への展開意欲がマッチし1945 年までに2 校が新設された。専門学校保健科は「女子専門学校教育刷新」に基づく女子専門学校の再編の一環として既存の女子専門学校家政系学科の転換により設置され、言説レベルでは看護職養成をも想定した。然るに、教育課程・教員組織は保健科設置以前との高い連続性を有し、実態は保健科教員・公衆衛生指導者養成の国家的要求と女子専門学校の現実の妥協点に成立した学科といえた。戦後、戦時に新設された女子厚生専門学校は廃止され、保健科は家政系学科に復した。戦後設置の滋賀県立女子専門学校保健科は保健科において保健婦教育のなされた唯一の事例であったが、新制短期大学へは承継されなかった。

During the Wartime Regime in WWII, Nursing Education acquired higher education status with the founding of Joshi Kosei Semmon Gakko (Women’s Welfare College) and conversion of Kasei-ka (Domestic science department) to Hoken-ka (Healthcare department) at Joshi Semmon Gakko (Women’s College). Two Joshi Kosei Semmon Gakko were founded as a result of the growing demand for nurses and school administrators’ desire to elevate their schools to colleges. Hoken-ka at Joshi Semmon Gakko, established as conversion of Kasei-ka by the order of “Joshi Semmon Gakko Kyoiku Sasshin” (The Direction of Reformation about Women’s College), had the purpose of including Education of Nursing as a profession. Despite their official purpose, the contents of subjects changed little and the structure of faculty was not different before and after the establishment of Hoken-ka. Hoken-ka were also founded as a compromise between Governmental demand for nurses and the actual situations in schools. After the end of WWII, Joshi Kosei Semmon Gakko founded by1945 disappeared and Hoken-ka reconverted to Department of Domestic Science or Home Economics. Although Hoken-ka at Shiga Prefectural Women’s College was only for training of Hoken-fu (Public Health Nurse) in Hoken-ka, this activity was suspended when the College transformed to Tanki-Daigaku.
