青年期における身近な他者からのサポートに関する研究の再検討

Abstract

本論文では、本邦における青年期を対象としたソーシャルサポート研究を概観し、サポートが受け手にネガティブに体験される可能性と現代的な青年の特徴に焦点を当てて検討を行った。本邦における研究の大多数は質問紙法による数量的な検討が行われており、質的な検討は少数であるが、近年ではサポート受領にまつわるプロセスの検討を試みる動きも見られた。また、多くの研究はポジティブな効果に焦点を当てていたが、ネガティブに体験される可能性についても指摘されていた。現代の青年期の特徴としては、希薄化した友人関係の持ち方に加え、葛藤を抱えることが難しい青年の存在が指摘されており、特に後者については、サポート希求やサポート認知との関連は未だ検討されていない可能性がうかがえた。今後は現代的な青年の特徴を踏まえた検討を行うと共に、両価的な感情も含めた受け手の主観的な体験の探索的な検討が蓄積されることが望まれると考えられた。

This paper presents a review of social support research targeting adolescents in Japan, focusing on the possibility of recipients experiencing support negatively and the characteristics of contemporary adolescents. Many studies in Japan have been conducted quantitatively using the questionnaire method, and there have been fewer qualitative studies. However, there have been some attempts to examine the processes involved in receiving support. Many studies focused on positive effects, while some studies noted the possibility of negative experiences. In addition to diluted friendships, the characteristics of contemporary adolescents are notable in that they have difficulty dealing with conflicts, and this feature may not yet have been examined in relation to social support needs and support perceptions. Further studies are needed to explore subjective experiences of support recipients, including ambivalent feelings, and to examine the relations between social support and the characteristics of contemporary adolescents.
