抄録: Dazai Shundai developed the anthropology of Sorai's study based on 'universality'. Seigakumondou, estimated as his masterpiece, intensively dealt with a problem of humanity and how to develop one's moral character in anthropology. That was the reason why most of the criticisms on Dazai Shundai concentrated on Seigakumondou. This paper analyzed three critics; Takase Gakusan, Hisada Rei and Ki kansyu. All of them formerly studied Ogyu Sorai and Dazai Shundai and subsequently criticized the thought. Later, they published a critical book on Seigakumondou which was regarded as the most important work of Dazai Shundai's thought. This paper examined the anthropology of Soraigaku, which was succeeded by Dazai Shundai particularly in revealing the reason why anti-Dazai Shundai scholars ideologically turned from Soraigaku. In opposition, Dazai Shundai sought human morality outside (body);, the critics on Dazai Shundai traced it inside (heart). As Confucian education was spreading in the 18th century, .the anti-Seigakumondou texts were used to develop one's own identity of the general public. In this sense, anti-Seigakumondou could be published on the basis of the conflict between two perspectives - Sorai's study to understand humans in view of service-ability, and the study to regard humans to serve a purpose.
