幼児の自己調整機能に及ぼすルールの使用と社会的文脈の影響

Abstract

This paper reviews research on self-regulation in young children. There have been many cognitive developmental studies on self-regulation in young children, focusing on the ability of rule use. They have found a developmental transition in young childhood. However, self-regulatory behaviors in real social situations are different from those observed in cognitive tasks, since they are influenced by social context. We discuss the developmental trends of rule use in cognitive tasks as well as the difficulty of impulse regulation in the "delay of gratification" and "resistance to temptation" tasks. The author proposes models to explain the relationship between the ability of rule use and self-regulation in social and interpersonal situations.
