Abstract

In this paper, a dream is adopted up to approach imagery. To stick to images, they are considered using the idea of "subject" and "predicate". This idea has been discussed mainly in the field of philosophy and logic. The logic of predicate is based on the equivalency of predicate. Subject indicates an "object" as the subject matter, but is also considered as a function of orienting something, putting a certain "object" as the subject matter. When the images of a dream are looked at according to the logic of predicate, it's possible to think the relation between an "object" and another "object", which appear to be unrelated, as the relation of a metaphor. Describing the predicative aspects of an "object" melts it and brings into relief various meanings around it. On the other hand, when the original "object" is replaced with another new "object" according to the equivalency of predicate, the image of the "object" can be seen from multiple points of view. An original image, owing to the melting action of describing the predicative aspects, becomes the image, which carries various meanings and appeals to us imaginatively.
