抄録: | The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has approximately 40 International Branch Campuses (IBCs) from developed and developing countries. In addition, in Dubai, one of the emirates constituting the UAE, five Indian IBCs have developed mainly for Indian students living in UAE and diversified to satisfy their demands. This paper clarifies the aspect of diversity of Indian IBCs in Dubai in terms of their operational strategies and suggests two conclusions. First, in terms of higher educational systematical framework in India and Dubai, three strategies are observed based on interviews with the representatives of four Indian IBCs. (1) "Local-Oriented Strategy" of IMT Dubai. (2) "Home and Host Counties-Balanced Strategy" of BITS Pilani Dubai Campus and Amity University Dubai Campus. (3) "Global-Oriented Strategy" of S.P. Jain Dubai. Second, depending on these conditions and provided programs, differences are observed in prospective students and graduates, and the graduates, especially those from economic programs, contribute to economic development in Dubai. These observations suggest that there is room for development of Indian IBCs in Dubai in future. |
