エリート大学生の文化的教養習得に対する歴史的考察 --1980年代の「文化熱」の分析を手がかりに--

Abstract

本稿の問題意識は、1990年代の中国の都市新中間層の文化に表れた特性にある。その特性は、特殊な歴史条件にあった学校教育から短時間で獲得した文化資本の在り方と深くかかわっている。しかし、これまでの研究では、そのような視角が等閑視されてきた。先行研究に対する批判を踏まえて、本稿は1980年代に流行った「文化熱」をてがかりに、急速な高等教育改革によって形成したエリート大学生の文化的教養習得に焦点をあて、その実態を明らかにすることを研究目的とする。多様な歴史資料を取り扱った本稿は、エリート大学生の文化的教養の習得状況およびその特徴を「読書文化」、「娯楽文化」の枠で精緻に描き出してまとめた。今後は1990年代の新たな社会動向に注目し、中国の都市新中間層の文化の特性の解明に向けて続いて歴史的考察を行う。

This research starts with a series of cultural features shown by the emerging middle class during the 1990s in Chinese cities. These features were closely associated with the culture capital attained within a short time and during a specific historical period through education. However, this perspective was neglected in previous studies. Therefore, this study focuses on cultural accomplishment of college elites accompanied by rapid higher education reform and discusses how they attained the level. Multiple historical records were utilized in the study. As a result, within a framework of "reading culture" and "entertainment culture, " how the college elites obtained the cultural accomplishments was elaborated, and the features exhibited in the process were summarized. Future research will place emphasis on new societal trends in the 1990s and continue historical analysis on the features of the new middle class culture in China.
