PBLの実行可能性 --藍野大学におけるシンメディカル科目の実施から--

Abstract

PBLが多くの分野で展開されるようになってきた一方、PBLの実施には多くの教育的資源が必要であり、導入までの障壁が高いとの見方が広がっている。このままでは、本来実行可能なはずの実践環境においてPBLの実施が見送られてしまう事態も生じかねない。そこで本研究では、今一度「本当にPBLを実行可能か」を問うための視点を提示することを研究の目的とした。そのための方法として、PBLの新たな導入を計画していた藍野大学におけるアクションリサーチを行った。調査結果を活動理論に基づいて分析した結果、以下の三点が明らかとなった。第一に、活動の土台となる《ルール》などと《道具》の関係に注視する必要性である。第二に、活動における《道具》が持つ「柔軟性」の視点である。そして第三に、一度実施されたものがその後も続いていくかという「持続可能性」について、《結果》が生じたプロセスをふまえて再度検討する必要性である。

While PBL has been deployed in many fields, it is widely thought that the implementation of PBL requires large amounts of educational resources and that the barriers to its introduction are high. If this continues, the implementation of PBL may be abandoned in practical environments where it should be feasible. Therefore, this study was performed to question whether PBL is really feasible. We conducted action research at Aino University, which was planning to introduce PBL in a new way. The results of a survey based on activity theory yielded the following three points. First, it is necessary to pay attention to how the “rules” and other aspects of the foundation of the activity relate to the “tools.” Second, it is necessary to consider the “flexibility” of the “instruments” used in activities. Third, there is a need to reexamine the “sustainability” of the “outcome” based on the process of their occurrence.
