The study focuses on the style of experience, which is hypothesized as the background of Texture responses scored as "Fc" by Klopfer, B. The features of Klopfer's "Fc" are discussed through an investigation into his theory of scoring and interpretation of shading responses, and also by the comparison of his work with other important work including that of Hermann Rorschach's. Consequently, it is suggested that a preserved unmet need for basic security may be related to one of the attitudes and modes of experience hypothesized as the background of the excessive "Fc". This style of experience places emphasis on shading sensitivity. Such people try to control their anxiety in an intellectual manner and at the same time they have no choice but to attempt to explore the nuances about a sign of security. This theory-based inference may be useful for therapists to expand their understanding of clients in psychotherapy.en
