老人の在り様が響きあう世界 : "ナンセンスの意味"に触れることをめぐる試論

Abstract

皮膚がそれ自身に接するところ、折り畳まれるところに「魂」があるというのは、たしかにとても魅力的な思考だ。「心」を見えない内面としてとらえたり、その奥底について考え及んだりするより、それを表面の効果として語ることで、「心」は見えるものになる。ひとの顔やふるまいや佇まいを眼にすることで、そのひとが浸されている哀しみを知るのだから。そしてこの合わさわた皮膚のあいだ、折り畳まれた皮膚のあいだから、音が響いてくる。あたりまえのことだが、人間とは音を立てる存在なのだ。(鷲田清一, 2003)

This is a paraphrase of my own paper - "What could we learn from old people with demntia?' (2005). In that paper, fragmentary utterances from such people in a certain hospitl were reported and showed how they insipred many and varied images that touch our hearts. Although their words were not logical and seem nonsensical, they told us many things about life and death. Then where do those utterances and images come from? How are old people living those various images? Listening to their voices more carefully, some fragmentary utterances and talkings, which could be a never-ending-story, are presented in this paper and my associations from those images are also reported.
