摂食障害を抱える人の在り方について

Abstract

筆者は、摂食障害を抱える人の在り方を掘り下げて考えることで、その人のもつ症状についての考察も深められると考える｡そこで本論文では摂食障害を抱える人の在り方と症状との関連を考察することで、摂食障害に共通す るものと、症状によって異なる点についても検討したい｡

In this paper, I have investigated the psychological state of subjects with eating disorders. To do this, I used the stories they told related to the first card of the Thematic Apperception Test (TAT). I tested it from the narration to TAT Card 1. Two groups participated, one of controls (n=30) and one with eating disorders (n=30). The results showed that compared with the control group, subjects with eating disorders were psychologically less well equipped to deal with problems and to resolve their own difficulties, and less able to emerge from difficult suppressive situations, and they experienced more feelings of helplessness. Therefore, I consider that subjects with eating disorders were psychologically weaker than those in the control group. This weakness can be said also to be a peculiar common symptom of both anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa. Further, I discuss how to treat eating disorders, especially the importance of considering how far the condition has advanced rather than focusing only on the subject's symptoms. I also consider the levels of client's conditions as more important than the symptoms and that treatment procedures differ accordingly.
