抄録: In this paper, the concept of "clinical epistemology" was considered through the psychoanalytical concept of "unconscious." First, the concept of "unconscious" was argued through the psychoanalytical works of Freud, S., Lacan, J, and Bion, W.R. In Freud, "unconscious" was thought of as a paradoxical mental process one possesses but can't know by oneself. In Lacan and Bion, "unconscious" was not a mental process or located in one's inner space. With reference to Lacan's term, "sujet supposé savoir, " (subject supposed to know) and Bion's concept of "K linking, " it was considered that "unconscious" appeared and came into one's own only in analytical relationship, and that there was no end in our knowing "unconscious." Then, through the comparison of psychoanalytical epistemology with "unconscious" and traditional epistemology, where the definition of knowledge has been "justified true belie!, " the concept of "clinical epistemology" was considered from the ontological viewpoint. Clinical epistemology is not just a piece of knowledge to be possessed; it is like a field where we are made to cope thoroughly with the unknown. It is not evaluated in explaining the fact, but makes it possible for us to recognize a "here and now" relationship and to venture into t he unknown psychotherapy and our own life.
