抄録: | Although memory is a core concept in psychotherapy, there are few ideas for memory in that context. This paper focuses on memory perspectives in clinical psychology, reviewing theories of memory produced by clinical psychologists and presenting a new perspective on them. In clinical psychology, the characteristics of memory, such as the production of subject and the changeability, are considered to be important, and what the memory means is pursued. Surveying the techniques of theories proposed by Freud and Adler, "to live the memory" seems to be the most significant experience. Meanwhile, some phenomena seem to indicate that "memory lives me, " such as flashback experience and transference. The traditional approach to such phenomena is to control the memory by "me" and to relive the memory in a new context. But this sometimes seems difficult. When the perspective of "soul" is introduced, both "I" and "Memory" would be products of soul. In this paradigm the dialogue between "I" and "Memory" is important in psychotherapy, and through development of the dialogue, both "I" and "Memory" would be transfigured. This new paradigm could be one perspective when the therapy becomes difficult based on the previous perspectives. |
