ケアとジェンダーをめぐる臨床心理学的考察

Abstract

本稿では, 私的領域においてケアをすることが, なぜ臨床心理学や社会で軽視されてきたのかということを, ジェンダー規範や, 臨床心理学の歴史の中での“女性性”“男性性”の捉えられ方, ケアそのものの性質から考察してきた。ケアは人間が生きる上で必要不可欠な営みである。しかしケアをすることは, ケアの担い手や周囲の人々に様々な葛藤をもたらす困難な営みである。同時に, 関係のなかで関係を通して自己を新たに形成する意義深い営みでもある。ケアにおいては“女性性”の心性が必要な場面は多いが, そのような心性は実際の性別と直接的に結びつくわけではないことと, 性別役割意識に起因する葛藤が存在することを認識する必要がある。その上で, “女性性”“男性性”を行き来し, 対話を重ねながら葛藤を生き続け, 答えを模索することこそ意味があり, そのようにして生き抜く中で, 人は関係性の中で生きる新しい自己を発見し続けるのではないかと考える。

This paper discusses why caring in the private field has been neglected in clinical psychology and society from gender norms, how “femininity” and “masculinity” are caught in the history of clinical psychology, and the nature of care itself. Care is an essential part of human life. However, caring is a difficult activity that brings various conflicts to the caregivers and those around them. At the same time, it is a meaningful process that enables one to newly form oneself through and within relationships. Although there are many situations where the mentality of “femininity” is necessary in caring, it is necessary to recognize that such a mentality is not directly related to actual sex, and that there is a conflict caused by the consciousness of gender roles. On top of that, it makes sense to move backward and forward between “femininity” and “masculinity” and to continue to survive conflicts through dialogue and seek answers. I think that people will continue to discover their new self that lives in relationships with others.
